TANQUA Training programs use functional training designed specifically to re-engineer YOU for optimum results.

We specialise in 2 areas, available either through personal training sessions, in online format with an instructional video per exercise, or a customised combination of both to suit your needs. Using the online training programs allows you to train at your convenience, establishing a routine that works within your schedule. Tanya is available globally for Skype PT sessions.

WHY FUNCTIONAL TRAINING?

Improve balance, stabilise your core, build strength and flexibility.

Our bodies are designed to move and to be flexible. Every exercise in functional training utilises multiple upper and lower body muscles and joints which teaches our body systems (nervous, muscular and skeletal) to work together efficiently in order to perform more effectively. Essentially, you are training the body to increase its capability of doing daily life activities with ease.

Lifting your own body weight builds a strong lean body.

Functional training exercises incorporate body weight and compound (using multiple muscles and joints) movements. Every exercise involves core activation recruiting smaller muscles to support the larger muscles. This teaches the core to stabilise the spine using different movements and body positions. Full body movements build strength and help boost metabolism, the less you move the less blood sugar you use.

 

Increase your muscle response speed and power.

Coordination, balance and stability create ease of movement in our daily lives, helping us to avoid injury and strain, and help the brain to stay more alert. Functional training is an excellent compliment to any sport or athletic training program, the stronger your functional movement and flexibility are, the greater your muscle response and power.
