There is no secret ingredient

How to lose weight and be fit has everything to do with your mindset and your daily habits. There is no lasting way to maintain fitness, a balanced body weight and mind set other than consistent daily choice and clear insight on the value of your why?


1. What is your reason? This is the most important element of any goal or change in your lifestyle. Without a strong why there is no binding or driving factor behind a new habit. The likely hood of begin with enthusiasm and the excitement of purchasing the equipment towards your goal will not sustain effective motion forward. Around week 4-6 of your new thing – you will not FEEL like doing it. Change requires discipline, consistent effort and progression requires consistent change. But I don’t feel motivated!!!..... Well, then you have lost focus of your WHY. Motivation only comes from having laser focus on your desired end result. The only way to meet the end result is to take consistent action –small or large doesn’t matter – its about doing something daily


2. Restrictive diets are not sustainable………neither is counting calories – it takes all the joy out of eating and daily life. I am not a fan of big restriction! I love eating and restriction makes me feel like I’m missing out on an essential joy and celebration in life. I eat chocolate and bakery items – WOOHOO. If the majority of your dietary intake is healthy clean foods and you move your body daily, you can eat the “treat foods” sometimes – just be mindful of how much and how your body feels. I often will eat these in the morning, so that I have time to burn the calories in my day – be creative and enjoy what you choose.


3. Start small with change and if you can – do it first thing in your day because then it’s done and you don’t need to think about it anymore. Mark it in your diary with a star sticker – it makes you feel good about yourself when you see a week of stars….. then you want to progress. Set a 21 day goal…… at the end of 21 days of stars, I will buy a new training top, get my toenails painted, buy a new lipstick……something that helps you celebrate.


Acknowledge your wins, note your challenges, work smarter……most of all have fun and laugh more. You’ve got this!!
